Why We Sing Kirk Franklin

Franklin is not the town I was raised in, merely information technology has go my hometown. I've lived many other places, only once I settled here, I felt I belonged. At that place'southward more diversity, community spirit, and general niceness hither than anywhere else I've e'er lived.

I tell my friends who aren't from my little town that Franklin is the Nicest Place in America. Earlier each movie, we all stand upwards and sing The Star Bangled Banner with our hands over our hearts. When you stop by the local banking concern, you lot can really stick your caput in and say "hi" to the banking concern president and he knows your proper noun and will ask well-nigh your spouse, your dog, or your garden. When y'all finish at an intersection in our town, 25% of the time someone will wave y'all through first, even if yous weren't the first to get in. Seriously, information technology happens to me at least once a day. If y'all walk your dog on 1 of our sidewalks or trails, don't be alarmed if folks honk "hello" to you.

After our boondocks flooded in 2008, everyone (fifty-fifty if their home flooded) helped out their neighbors and friends. Several flooded businesses were re-opened within days because of the outpouring of aid.

At the iv-H County Fair each year, a grouping of local businessmen brand sure that every terminal iv-H animal put upwards for auction is purchased. Sometimes they stay there for 6-vii hours pooling their coin and behest on animals so that every single 4-H kid walks abroad with some cash.
